The Power of the Written Word...
I just read an interesting article (Introducing sIFR: The Healthy Alternative to Browser Text)
on an alternative to circumvent the limitations of browser text
rendering (aka: The jaggies, choppy, "typographically challenged"). The
article give a nice history, examples, and downloads (released into
public domain). The site Mike Industries is also an excellent example of realy good web design...

Monster Makovers

Have you seen the new Jaguar XJ8 in their new TV ad campaign yet? Seems
like their designers have been paying attention to the Hip-Hop crowd
with the screen placement in the front-seat head rests (Jaguar XJ8),
don't you think? This, I think is yet another manifestation of the
"Monster Makover", hyper customization craze. The web site is a bit
weak considering the price of their product line. I guess if your
material stuff is very cool, and ultra custom, then you also become hip
simply by association with the things around you?
